Google in a partnership with NASA and Oak Ridge National Laboratory recently demonstrated quantum supremacy. The quantum computer can compute in seconds unlikely any classical supercomputer which would take thousands of years to perform the same computation. As data presented by Google experiment run by the Sycamore quantum processor developed by Google, which consists of 54qubits each made up of superconducting loops.
The scientist associated with the project stated that this quantum computer carried out a specific calculation in just 200 seconds that is beyond the practical capabilities of classical computers. The same calculation would take even the best classical supercomputer 10,000 years to complete, Google estimates.
Unlike traditional computer which Bits remains in two states either 0 or 1 but in quantum computer a bit can be in many states known as Qubits, the 0 and 1 occur in superposition at the same state, it works on quantum mechanics.
The latest breakthrough will open new dimension in development of the complex Research and Technology, this will further help to optimize the challenges in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning as the ability to process complex Algorithm and dataset in few seconds unlike classical processor which is not efficient enough to process large set of data effectively.
